PTA has taken action against those involved in the online advertisement and illegal sale of medicines through online platforms.
On the request of DRAP to curb the online promotion and sale of unregistered medicines, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority took immediate action and launched a crackdown against websites and social media pages involved in selling unregistered medicines.
Under necessary measures to limit online access to unregistered medicines, several websites removed illegal products following PTA action.
According to PTA sources, websites that do not remove content related to the sale of medicines will be blocked.
It is worth mentioning that DRAP had declared the online sale of medicines related to sexual health, weight loss and mental disorders illegal.
