The National Emergency Operations Center has announced that a special anti polio campaign will be conducted from May 18 to 24 in 79 selected districts across the country.
According to a statement issued by NEOC, approximately 19 million children will be administered polio drops during the campaign. This special polio drive in May is being conducted simultaneously in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
In Punjab’s 10 selected districts, 6.19 million children will be given polio drops, while in Sindh’s 20 selected districts, 5.79 million children will be vaccinated against polio.
Similarly, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s 23 selected districts, 4.61 million children will be administered polio drops, while in Balochistan’s 25 selected districts, 1.99 million children will receive polio vaccination.
In Islamabad, 450,000 children will be given polio drops.
