Cricket Australia has stated that the decision for Australian players to participate in the remainder of the IPL will be left to individual players, and the board will support whatever choice they make.
In an official statement, Cricket Australia affirmed its backing for players whether they choose to return to India or not. Meanwhile, team management will assess preparations for the upcoming ICC World Test Championship Final.
The board also noted that the return of players to the IPL may impact their preparation for the WTC Final, and these factors will be reviewed carefully. Discussions regarding security arrangements are ongoing with both the Australian government and the BCCI.
It is worth mentioning that following the ceasefire between Pakistan and India, the IPL is set to resume on 17 May , with the final scheduled for 3 June . The WTC Final will be played from 11 June .
Earlier, the IPL was suspended on 9 May , and Australian players had flown back home due to escalating regional tensions.
