With the arrival of Eid-ul-Adha, concerns have emerged over an increased risk of the Congo virus.

‎Medical experts have advised citizens to adopt precautionary measures while purchasing and handling sacrificial animals and to ensure the use of tick killing sprays on animals during Eid-ul-Adha.

‎Experts also said that gloves, masks and protective clothing should be used during animal sacrifice, while direct contact with animal blood and waste should be avoided.

‎According to experts, the Congo virus spreads through tick bites or contact with the blood of infected animals. Citizens are advised to seek immediate medical attention if symptoms such as fever, body aches or bleeding appear.

‎Medical experts further urged the public to pay special attention to cleanliness and safety measures during Eid-ul-Adha.
