Specialized Healthcare Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said that the best medical facilities should be provided to patients visiting hospitals on Eid-ul-Adha. Instructions have also been issued to all hospitals to strictly implement infection control SOPs.
According to details, a meeting regarding the provision of medical facilities in specialized hospitals during Eid-ul-Adha was held under the chairmanship of Specialized Healthcare Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique. MSs of all teaching hospitals participated in the meeting.
The meeting was briefed about the duty rosters of medical, nursing, paramedical, support staff and medical officers during Eid-ul-Adha. Duty rosters of doctors have been issued for hospital emergencies, indoor wards, operation theatres and pharmacies to ensure better medical facilities for patients during Eid-ul-Adha.
During the meeting, hospitals were directed to strictly implement infection control SOPs. Hospitals were instructed to ensure the availability of medicines, IV fluids, vaccines, surgical and non surgical disposables, medical gases and other arrangements. Instructions were also issued to ensure the availability of blood bags of all blood groups, updated lists of donors and to increase the number of beds in case of emergencies.
Hospitals were also directed to ensure generators and uninterrupted water supply, and to keep biomedical equipment, X-ray machines, ultrasound, CT scan and MRI machines functional. In addition, hospitals were instructed to keep operation theatres fully functional and maintain active ambulance services while remaining in complete coordination with 1122 for shifting patients.
