The Punjab government has announced a large-scale initiative to train 35,000 public school teachers in spoken English as part of efforts to improve language skills and enhance the quality of education across the province. The program aims to strengthen teachers’ communication abilities so they can deliver lessons more effectively in classrooms.

According to education officials, the training will focus on improving fluency, pronunciation, and confidence in spoken English. Specialized training sessions and workshops will be conducted in phases to ensure wide participation from teachers across urban and rural districts.

Authorities say the initiative is part of broader educational reforms designed to modernize teaching standards and better prepare students for higher education and global opportunities. Education experts have welcomed the move, calling it a positive step toward improving academic outcomes and bridging language gaps in the public education system.
