Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has announced the launch of 3-month online digital skills courses aimed at helping students and professionals enhance their technical abilities in line with modern industry demands.
According to the university, the short courses are designed to provide practical training in areas such as digital literacy, freelancing skills, computer applications, graphic design, and other in-demand IT-related competencies. The program will be conducted entirely online, allowing participants from across the country to enroll and learn remotely.
AIOU officials stated that the initiative is part of the university’s broader effort to promote skill-based education and support youth in developing employable skills. They emphasized that the courses are structured to be accessible, affordable, and flexible for students, working individuals, and job seekers.
The university also highlighted that these digital skills programs are aligned with current market needs, where remote work and freelancing opportunities are expanding rapidly. Participants who successfully complete the courses will receive certificates that may help improve their career prospects.
Education experts have welcomed the move, noting that short-term skill development programs can play an important role in bridging the gap between traditional education and the evolving requirements of the digital economy.
