Another case of mpox has been reported from Karachi’s Landhi area, bringing the total number of mpox cases in the city to 11.
According to the Health Department, mpox has been confirmed in a 35 year old resident of Mohabbat Nagar, Landhi. The patient has been shifted to the isolation ward of the Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital in NIPA.
Hospital administration stated that the affected individual visited the NIPA hospital yesterday. The patient has no travel history, and mpox was confirmed through a PCR test.
A total of eight mpox cases have so far been reported at the Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital in NIPA, while 11 cases have been reported across Karachi this year.
