Pakistan’s legal system has often been criticized for being difficult for children to navigate, especially those involved in family disputes, custody cases, or the juvenile justice system. Many legal procedures are designed with adults in mind, leaving children vulnerable and without adequate support.
In my view, initiatives that provide child-focused legal assistance are an important step toward creating a more inclusive and fair justice system. Specialized clinics can help ensure that children’s rights, welfare, and voices are properly considered during legal proceedings.
While one clinic alone cannot solve all the challenges facing child justice in Pakistan, it can serve as a valuable model for future reforms. Strengthening child-friendly legal services and increasing awareness of children’s rights could help make the justice system more accessible and compassionate for young people.
Ultimately, protecting children within the legal system is not just a legal responsibility—it is an investment in a fairer and more equitable society.
