LAHORE — The grieving father of a 10-year-old girl found dead inside a Lahore tuition centre on Wednesday has demanded a transparent investigation, casting doubt on initial claims that her death was a result of natural causes.

The girl, a student at a private academy in the city’s Township area, was found unresponsive in a classroom yesterday afternoon. Staff at the facility rushed her to a nearby hospital, but doctors confirmed she had died before arrival.

“They called me and said she fainted,” the father told reporters outside the hospital late Wednesday. “When I reached the academy, the situation was different. I want to know who was responsible for supervising the children. My daughter didn’t just walk into a classroom and stop breathing.”

Police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident, cordoning off the tuition centre to collect forensic evidence. Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the building, though officials have remained tight-lipped regarding any potential foul play.

“We have taken statements from the teachers and the academy administration,” a senior police officer said. “The post-mortem report will be the deciding factor. Until then, we are treating the scene as a site of potential negligence.”

The incident has sparked outrage among local parents, many of whom gathered outside the tuition centre this morning. They are questioning the lack of medical protocols and emergency preparedness at private academies operating in residential areas.

For the family, the focus remains on the autopsy results expected within the next 24 hours. The father, visibly shaken, insisted that he would pursue legal action if the investigation shows any lapse in safety or medical attention.

“I sent her to learn, not to lose her,” he said. “I am waiting for the truth.”
