QUETTA, July 25, 2026: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti held a high-level meeting in Quetta on Saturday to review the province’s overall security situation and discuss measures to strengthen counter-terrorism efforts amid recent militant attacks.

During the meeting, both leaders assessed the law-and-order situation, ongoing intelligence-based operations, and coordination between federal and provincial security institutions. They emphasized that restoring lasting peace in Balochistan remains a national priority and reaffirmed their commitment to eliminating terrorism through coordinated action.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said the federal government stands firmly with the Balochistan government in its fight against terrorism. He stressed that modern technology, improved intelligence-sharing, and close coordination among security agencies are essential to defeating militant groups. Naqvi added that the Centre and the provincial government are working in complete unity to establish lasting peace and stability across the province.

Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti reiterated that his government would remain “one step ahead” of terrorists and would not bow to any pressure. He pledged that the writ of the state would be enforced at all costs and that no safe haven would be allowed for terrorists anywhere in Balochistan. He also praised the sacrifices of security forces and expressed confidence that terrorism would be defeated through continued cooperation between federal and provincial institutions.

The meeting took place amid heightened security concerns following a series of militant attacks in Balochistan, including the recent ambush in Mastung in which a district judge and his security guard were killed. Pakistani authorities have since intensified intelligence-based operations and renewed their commitment to dismantling militant networks operating in the province.
