KARACHI — Renowned singer, activist, and philanthropist Shehzad Roy, alongside celebrated comedian and television host Tabish Hashmi, has officially announced Zindagi Trust’s annual fundraising dinner tour across the United States, scheduled from September 18 to 25. The high-profile campaign aims to mobilize the Pakistani diaspora and raise vital awareness regarding the necessity of quality public education reform in Pakistan. Through a video message shared on his Instagram account, Roy emphasized the urgent need to overhaul the government school network and elevate the country’s teaching profession through standard professional qualifications and strict teacher licensing.
Expressing an optimistic vision for the future, Roy stated that the time is fast approaching when parents will confidently enroll their children in government schools, secure in the knowledge that they are being educated by top-tier local educators. He explained that the upcoming multi-city tour—which will make stops in Chicago, New Jersey, Washington, Dallas, Houston, and San Francisco—will allow supporters to see firsthand how Zindagi Trust is actively shifting the paradigm for public institutions. Roy also praised his tour partner, Tabish Hashmi, noting that the comedian was chosen not only for his exceptional entertainment skills but because he genuinely believes in the educational cause. Long recognized as one of Pakistan’s most prominent advocates for child protection, safer learning environments, and structural academic reforms, Roy urged overseas Pakistanis to attend the dinners and play an integral role in the initiative.
