Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated the National Robotics Expo in Islamabad, highlighting the government’s commitment to promoting innovation, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies among Pakistani youth. The event brought together students, researchers, engineers, technology companies, and educational institutions from across the country to showcase cutting-edge robotics projects and technological innovations.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Prime Minister said that robotics, artificial intelligence, automation, and digital technologies are transforming industries around the world, and Pakistan must prepare its young generation to compete in the rapidly evolving global technology landscape. He stressed that investing in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education is essential for building a knowledge-based economy and creating high-value employment opportunities.

Shehbaz Sharif praised the creativity and technical skills displayed by participating students and innovators, stating that Pakistan’s youth possess tremendous potential to become leaders in technological innovation. He encouraged universities, research institutions, and private technology firms to strengthen collaboration in research and product development to accelerate the country’s digital transformation.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the government’s efforts to expand access to modern technology education through digital initiatives, AI programs, innovation centers, and research funding. He noted that encouraging innovation at educational institutions would help produce skilled professionals capable of contributing to Pakistan’s economic growth and global competitiveness.

The Robotics Expo featured autonomous robots, AI-powered systems, industrial automation solutions, educational robotics, and student-designed engineering projects. Participants demonstrated practical applications of robotics in healthcare, agriculture, manufacturing, disaster management, and education, reflecting the growing interest in advanced technologies across Pakistan.

Officials said the exhibition aims to inspire students to pursue careers in robotics, artificial intelligence, and engineering while strengthening collaboration between academia, industry, and government. The event is expected to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and technological research, supporting Pakistan’s broader vision of becoming a regional hub for science and digital innovation.
