Scientists are continuing to explore the theoretical possibility of time travel, using advanced physics and mathematical models to better understand whether traveling through time could ever become scientifically possible.

According to physicists, current research is based on Albert Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, which suggests that time is not fixed but can be affected by gravity and speed. Experiments have already shown that time passes slightly differently for astronauts in space and for satellites orbiting Earth, a phenomenon known as time dilation.

Researchers are also studying theoretical concepts such as wormholes, hypothetical tunnels through space-time that could, in theory, connect distant locations or even different points in time. However, scientists emphasize that there is currently no experimental evidence proving that traversable wormholes exist or that they could be used for time travel.

Modern theoretical studies are also examining quantum mechanics, black holes, and the structure of space-time to determine whether the laws of physics could ever allow travel to the past or future. While traveling into the future through time dilation is supported by modern physics under extreme conditions, traveling into the past remains highly speculative and presents major scientific paradoxes.

Experts point out that paradoxes—such as the famous “grandfather paradox,” in which changing the past could alter the future—remain one of the biggest challenges for any theory of backward time travel.

Scientists stress that time travel remains a theoretical concept, not a proven technology. Much of what is portrayed in science fiction films and television series goes far beyond current scientific understanding.

Researchers believe that ongoing studies into gravity, quantum physics, and the nature of the universe may one day provide deeper answers about the true nature of time, even if practical time travel remains impossible.

The latest theoretical work highlights humanity’s continuing effort to understand one of the universe’s greatest mysteries: the nature of time itself.
