KARACHI: Rehman, widely known as “Bhola”—who was recently released following a Supreme Court of Pakistan verdict in the infamous Baldia factory fire case—has been re-arrested by Karachi police, ARY News reported.

Law enforcement officials took Rehman into custody during a raid at his residence in North Nazimabad. According to investigative sources, his re-arrest is directly linked to a violent armed scuffle that erupted on Sunday night at the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) headquarters in Bahadurabad. Along with Rehman, police also detained Zeeshan, the MQM-P sector in-charge for the Society area, and launched raids on the homes of two other party activists, including Ubaid K-2.

The high-tension clash broke out on Sunday during a meeting held by the Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui faction regarding upcoming Independence Day celebrations. Tensions boiled over when members of the Mustafa Kamal faction, led by Anees Qaimkhani, arrived at the headquarters to hold a parallel meeting. Sources revealed that after party administration attempted to block the second group from entering, a heated verbal exchange rapidly escalated into physical violence, with rival workers hurling chairs and eventually opening fire. The shootout left at least two activists injured and plunged the party headquarters into chaos.

Following the violence, law enforcement agencies swiftly intervened, sealing off the Bahadurabad headquarters and deploying heavy contingents of police and Rangers to maintain public order and prevent further unrest. Authorities remain stationed at the site as investigations into the armed confrontation continue.
