The Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed a powerful bullish rally on Wednesday, as the benchmark KSE-100 Index surged by nearly 4,000 points.
The index gained 3,994.62 points, or 2.38 percent, to close at 172,013.48 points, crossing the important 172,000-point level.
Market analysts attributed the rally to strong institutional buying, improving investor confidence and developments surrounding US midterm elections and possible diplomatic progress between the United States and Iran.
Buying activity was seen across major sectors, including banking, cement, automobiles, oil and gas, and power generation.
The strong performance marks a positive session for investors and extends the stock market’s recent recovery.
However, analysts say geopolitical developments and international oil prices could continue to influence market sentiment.
