KARACHI: Actors Shuja Asad and Kubra Khan have said goodbye to their characters in the recently concluded drama Doctor Bahu, reflecting on the memorable nine-month journey and the strong bonds they developed with the cast and crew.
The drama ended last week with Asad’s character, Salman, and Khan’s Dr Sania finally resolving their differences. Following the finale, both actors turned to social media to thank viewers and share their memories from the production.
Asad shared a photograph with Kubra Khan and reflected on his portrayal of Salman, describing him as an imperfect character who made mistakes but eventually confronted his shortcomings and sought to make amends.
The actor thanked viewers for following the story, supporting the characters and engaging with the issues raised throughout the drama. He said Salman was never designed as a flawless protagonist and that his mistakes, struggles and eventual efforts to change made the character more relatable.
Asad also highlighted the social themes explored in Doctor Bahu, saying he hoped the drama would encourage audiences to discuss issues such as grief, controlling behaviour, unhealthy relationships, forgiveness and accountability.
He expressed gratitude to the show’s writers, director, producers, cast and crew for trusting him with the role, while thanking viewers for welcoming Salman into their homes throughout the serial’s run.
Kubra Khan also marked the conclusion of the drama with a behind-the-scenes video featuring producer Mehreen Jabbar and moments from the set.
Reflecting on her experience, Khan said the atmosphere among the cast and crew made the production particularly special. She recalled how the team supported one another during both light-hearted and emotionally demanding scenes.
According to Khan, the nine-month shoot passed quickly because of the friendships and sense of togetherness that developed among the team. She described the cast and crew as being more like school friends who remained together and supported each other throughout the project.
Producer Mehreen Jabbar also responded warmly to Asad’s farewell post, expressing her happiness that he had accepted the role.
With Doctor Bahu now concluded, viewers have begun discussing the possibility of seeing Shuja Asad and Kubra Khan together in another project, with many praising the chemistry they brought to Salman and Dr Sania.
