PM Shehbaz Kicks Off Regional Tour Covering Turkiye, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Tajikistan embarks on key four nation’s diplomatic mission

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to begin a significant diplomatic tour today (Sunday), visiting Turkiye, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Tajikistan. This high-level engagement aims to deepen bilateral relations and address pressing regional and international matters.

During his visit, the prime minister will hold extensive discussions with the leadership of all four countries, focusing on strengthening cooperation in areas such as trade, defense, regional connectivity, and strategic collaboration.

A key element of the tour is to convey Pakistan’s heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support these nations extended during the recent tensions with India following the Pahalgam false flag operation. Their backing reinforced the spirit of regional solidarity and friendship.

In addition to his bilateral engagements, Prime Minister Shehbaz will participate in the International Conference on Glaciers in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, scheduled for Thursday and Friday. His attendance underscores Pakistan’s commitment to tackling climate change and protecting vulnerable ecosystems.

Earlier, on April 22, Prime Minister Shehbaz visited Turkiye on a two-day trip at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The two leaders reaffirmed the deep-rooted ties between their nations, built on shared history, culture, and religion, with longstanding cooperation in diplomacy, defense, and trade. Both countries continue to support each other on key global issues such as Kashmir and Cyprus, reinforcing their strategic partnership.

Upon landing in Ankara, PM Shehbaz expressed his anticipation of the meeting, stating in a post on X: “Just landed in Ankara. Looking forward to meeting President Erdogan”.
