RAWALPINDI — Two foreign nationals, arrested last week for allegedly filming and uploading obscene content, have been transferred to Adiala Jail. Officials moved the pair from a local police station late Tuesday following a court order that remanded them into judicial custody.

The suspects, whose identities have not been officially released by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), were apprehended after a series of complaints regarding their social media activity. Investigators claim the duo used rented residential premises in the city to produce material that violated local laws and cultural norms.

The move to Adiala—a high-security facility—marks the transition from initial interrogation to the formal trial phase. While the FIA has completed its preliminary data recovery from the suspects’ devices, the legal process is expected to drag on as authorities coordinate with the suspects’ respective embassies.

Local law enforcement remains tight-lipped on the specific nature of the footage, citing the sensitivity of the ongoing investigation. However, sources familiar with the probe suggest the evidence includes multiple digital files that contradict the visa purposes under which the individuals entered the country.

Legal experts following the case note that the charges carry significant penalties under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA). If convicted, the suspects could face lengthy prison terms before potential deportation.

For now, the pair remains behind bars. Their next court appearance is scheduled for early next week, where their defense team is expected to file for bail.
