The provincial education boards released the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) Part II pre-engineering results for the 2026 academic session on Tuesday, revealing a mixed performance landscape across the region.

Students accessed their results via official board websites and SMS services starting at 10:00 a.m. While top-performing colleges maintained high pass percentages, many institutions reported a noticeable dip in scores within core subjects like Mathematics and Physics.

Education officials attributed the fluctuation in grades to a revised assessment framework introduced earlier this year. The new examination model placed a greater emphasis on conceptual understanding rather than rote memorization, a shift that left many students struggling to adapt during the final examination cycle.

“We expected a learning curve given the structural changes to the curriculum,” said the provincial controller of examinations during a brief press briefing. “The results reflect a transition period that the entire education system is currently navigating.”

For thousands of students, the outcome determines their eligibility for competitive engineering entrance exams at public universities. With admissions season fast approaching, the pressure on high-achieving candidates is mounting as they scramble to secure seats in top-tier institutions.

Students dissatisfied with their grades have been granted a window to apply for paper re-checking. The boards confirmed that the process for filing grievances will remain open for the next ten days, after which the supplemental examination schedule will be finalized.

This year’s data shows that while the overall pass rate remains consistent with the previous cycle, the number of students achieving top-tier “A-1” grades has narrowed. As the results circulate, the focus now shifts to the engineering university entrance tests, which are slated to begin later this month.

Teacher Transfer Restrictions Relaxed Across Balochistan QUETTA: The Balochistan government has relaxed restrictions on the transfer and posting of teachers, allowing teaching staff to seek transfers within their respective districts against vacant and approved posts. The School Education Department has issued a revised notification outlining the new arrangements. Under the policy, eligible teachers can be transferred to vacant and sanctioned posts within the same district, providing greater flexibility in teacher postings. However, the ban on inter-district transfers for Secondary School Teachers (SSTs), headmasters and headmistresses will remain in effect. The department has also allowed surplus teachers currently posted in Quetta to return to their native districts. At the same time, teachers cannot be transferred from another district to Quetta or from Quetta to another district under the stated restrictions. Teachers awaiting posting have been directed to submit their applications to the concerned District Education Officer (DEO) within one month. The department has warned that officials or individuals found violating the revised transfer policy will face departmental action. The relaxation is expected to provide relief to eligible teachers while helping the education authorities make better use of available teaching posts across districts.
