ISLAMABAD: The United Kingdom has assured Pakistan that delays in processing student visas for Pakistani applicants will be addressed, providing relief to students waiting for decisions ahead of their academic sessions.
The issue was raised by Federal Law and Justice Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar during a meeting with British High Commissioner Jane Marriott. The minister highlighted the difficulties being faced by Pakistani students because of prolonged visa processing times.
According to reports, hundreds of Pakistani students have been affected by the delays, with some facing uncertainty over their ability to join their universities on time. The delays have created concerns for students who have already secured admissions and completed other requirements for studying in the UK.
The British High Commissioner assured the Pakistani side that the visa-delay issue would be resolved. The two sides also discussed strengthening educational cooperation and institutional ties between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
The development is expected to provide some relief to Pakistani students planning to pursue higher education in the UK, particularly those awaiting visa decisions for upcoming academic sessions.
