LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to introduce social skills education in government schools across the province, aiming to help students develop positive behaviour and stronger interpersonal skills.
The programme will focus on areas such as discipline, responsibility, cooperation, respect and positive social interaction.
The initiative is designed to complement academic education by helping students develop practical skills needed in their daily lives.
Students will be encouraged to understand responsible behaviour, communicate effectively, cooperate with classmates and develop healthier relationships within their communities.
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has stressed the importance of education that goes beyond textbooks and examinations.
Officials believe that teaching social and life skills from an early age can contribute to a more disciplined and cooperative school environment.
The programme reflects a broader shift toward combining academic learning with character development and practical life skills, helping students prepare for responsibilities beyond the classroom.
