The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has announced the opening of applications for its 2025 EPOS (Development-Related Postgraduate Courses) Scholarship Programme, offering fully funded Master’s and PhD studies in Germany for professionals from developing and newly industrialised countries.
The scholarship provides a monthly stipend (€992 for Master’s, €1,300 for PhD), health and liability insurance, a travel allowance, and potential extra support like rent or family subsidies. Funding spans 12 to 42 months, depending on the programme.
Eligible applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree (typically four years), have at least two years of relevant work experience, and demonstrate a clear development-related motivation. The programme aims to strengthen capacity in developing nations by preparing future leaders for public, private, and civil society roles.
Key selection criteria include strong academic performance, relevant professional background, commitment to development, and social responsibility. Only DAAD-listed postgraduate courses qualify.
