Hundreds of students of the Delhi Government School in Federal B Area staged a protest after their school complex was sealed amid a long-running dispute over its ownership and possession. The closure has left around 2,800 students without access to their regular classrooms.

The school was sealed by a court bailiff on August 29 following the unresolved dispute between the Sindh government and the Delhi Anglo Association. A notice from the Sindh School Education Department was placed outside the premises confirming the sealing of the building.

On Monday morning, students and teachers gathered outside the school and held their assembly on the road. Students carried placards and chanted slogans demanding the immediate reopening of their school and restoration of their classrooms.

The protesting students called for their school to be returned and urged authorities to protect their right to education. Later, some students broke open the locks of two sealed blocks and entered the buildings, although this did not provide a permanent solution to the dispute.

The school complex includes Government Delhi Primary School, Government Delhi Secondary School, Government Delhi Boys Secondary School and Government Delhi College. The Education Department said it is working with the Advocate General and Solicitor Department to file an appeal before the sessions court and seek a stay order so that educational activities can resume.

Authorities have also asked the deputy commissioner of District Central to begin proceedings for the legal acquisition of the land, with the aim of finding a permanent solution and protecting the interests of students.

The closure has raised concerns among students, teachers and parents, as thousands of students face disruption to their studies while the legal dispute over the school premises continues.
