AI Community Africa (AICA), in partnership with DataCamp, has opened applications for its 2026/2027 scholarship programme, offering African students, recent graduates, professionals and aspiring technology practitioners an opportunity to develop practical skills in data and artificial intelligence.

The scholarship is designed to expand access to technical education and help participants build career-focused capabilities through DataCamp’s online learning platform. Selected learners can follow structured courses, complete practical exercises and work on projects designed to strengthen their real-world technical skills.

Applicants can choose from four learning tracks: Data Analysis, Data Science, Data Engineering and Machine Learning Engineering. These areas cover skills ranging from interpreting datasets and developing analytical models to building data infrastructure and applying machine-learning technologies.

The programme is open to a broad range of African learners, including students, recent graduates, beginners, working professionals, self-taught learners and aspiring data and AI practitioners. Previous professional experience in technology is not necessarily required, making the opportunity accessible to people who are starting their careers in the field.

In addition to access to DataCamp’s learning resources, the programme offers structured technical training, hands-on projects, career-focused learning and opportunities to build a professional portfolio. AICA also highlighted access to a community of learners, mentors and professionals as part of the programme.

The initiative comes as demand for data and AI skills continues to grow across industries. Organisers say developing practical capabilities in these fields can help African learners participate more effectively in the expanding digital economy and prepare for technology-focused careers.

The application deadline was August 30, 2026. AICA announced that applications for the new cohort would open following the completion of its previous scholarship programme.
