CHINIOT — A man allegedly murdered his wife and three children in the Mohallah Jamia Abad area of Chiniot on Wednesday, marking a brutal end to a long-standing family land dispute.
Police identified the suspect as Muhammad Afzal. Neighbors reported hearing screams from the house in the early hours of the morning before silence fell over the residence. By the time relatives broke down the doors, the suspect had already fled the scene.
The victims included his wife, a son, and two daughters. Their bodies were discovered with deep wounds, according to initial police reports. The local station house officer (SHO) confirmed that the primary motive behind the slaughter appears to be an ongoing property disagreement that had fractured the family for months.
“He targeted his own family over a piece of land,” said a senior police official familiar with the investigation. “We are currently tracking his location and have launched a search operation in the surrounding districts.”
