KARACHI, October 14, 2026: The judicial commission investigating the death of young entrepreneur Mir Raza Ali is expected to submit its final report to the Sindh government by October 15.
The commission, headed by Sindh High Court Justice Omar Sial, concluded its proceedings after recording statements from 49 witnesses across 15 hearings. Its inquiry focused on the circumstances surrounding Raza’s death and possible negligence or misconduct during the investigation.
During the proceedings, questions were raised about the handling and preservation of evidence, the investigation’s direction and the conduct of police officials. The commission also examined whether further investigative steps were required.
Mir Raza Ali’s body was found in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area on July 29, a day after he went missing. The case initially raised questions about the circumstances of his death, and a murder charge was subsequently added to the police investigation.
The victim’s family has requested a copy of the commission’s findings and called for an independent joint investigation team (JIT) involving officers from agencies not previously involved in the case.
The report is expected to contain findings and recommendations for further investigation or legal and departmental action, where warranted. Whether the findings will be made public will be a decision for the Sindh government.
