Famous Pakistani TV actress Ayesha Khan was found dead in her flat in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi. Police said her body appeared to be a week old and she had been living alone.
Neighbors noticed a foul smell and informed her family, who then called the police.
Her body was taken to Jinnah Hospital and later moved to Edhi’s mortuary. A post-mortem will be done if her family requests it.
Ayesha Khan was known for her roles in classic dramas like Afshan, Uroosa, Aanch, Bandhan, and Shaam Se Pehle.
She was born in 1948 and was the elder sister of actress Khalida Riasat.
Arts Council President Ahmed Shah said her death is a huge loss, as she worked in the drama industry for over 50 years. Funeral details will be announced later.
