A new case of polio has been confirmed in Pakistan, bringing the total number of cases in 2025 to 13. According to the National Polio Emergency Operations Center (NEOC), the latest case has been reported from the Tank district, where a one and a half year old girl has tested positive for the virus.
The NEOC stated that certain areas in South Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remain difficult to access, but efforts are ongoing in collaboration with provincial and district administrations to reach every child.
The NEOC has once again appealed to parents to take the threat of the poliovirus seriously and ensure that their children receive polio drops during every campaign.
