ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced a hike in fuel prices for the upcoming fortnight, with petrol prices rising by Rs8.36 per litre, according to a report by ARY News.
As per a notification from the Ministry of Finance, the price of petrol has actually been increased by Rs14.80 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs266.89 per litre.
Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel has also seen a significant rise of Rs10.39 per litre, with the new rate set at Rs272.98 per litre.
The Ministry of Finance, which finalizes petroleum pricing in consultation with the Prime Minister, was reportedly delayed in issuing the official notification, although the price changes have now been confirmed.
