The federal government has decided to introduce 35 new medicines with advanced formulas in Pakistan. The registration and pricing of these medicines had been pending for the past two years.

‎According to sources, the pricing of the new medicines has been included in the agenda of the upcoming cabinet meeting, where the federal cabinet is expected to finalize the prices. The list includes modern treatments for cancer, blood pressure, kidney diseases, prostate issues, diabetes, and heart conditions.

‎Sources further revealed that newly introduced vaccines for the prevention of various diseases worldwide are also part of this list. It is expected that the prices for all 35 medicines will be approved in the next cabinet meeting. Once the prices are set, these medicines can either be manufactured locally or imported.

‎Due to the delay in price approval, these essential medicines remained unavailable in the market despite high demand. The prices will be determined under the mandatory category, keeping them under government regulation.
