Karachi, July 19, 2025: A robbery attempt in Karachi’s Azizabad area was thwarted when a courageous citizen retaliated with gunfire, killing one of the armed robbers on the spot. CCTV footage of the incident has since surfaced, offering a clear view of the events as they unfolded.
According to the footage, five young men were sitting at a local hotel using their mobile phones when three armed suspects arrived on a motorcycle. The suspects brandished weapons and began snatching mobile phones from the group.
One of the citizens, acting swiftly and bravely, drew his own firearm and opened fire on the robbers. One suspect was shot dead on the spot, while another fled on the motorcycle, and the third escaped on foot.
Police confirmed the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Azizabad Police Station. Efforts are underway to identify the deceased suspect and apprehend the two who escaped.
The incident comes amid a recent surge in street crimes and robberies in the area, raising concerns among local residents. Police say further action is being taken to curb the rising crime rate.
