Study: Anger Rises in Midlife Women, But Expression Declines

A new US-based study has found that women tend to feel more anger as they approach midlife, but they express it less often.

The research, published in the journal Menopause, followed 271 women aged 35 to 55 over several years.

Most of the women in the study were educated, working, married, and from the middle class.

Researchers noted that anger increased during the late reproductive years, but women expressed it less as they moved closer to menopause.

Experts believe this may show improved emotional control, but also warn that constantly holding in emotions can harm mental health.

The study highlights the need for better emotional support for women during midlife and menopause.
