At the global summit held in Abu Dhabi for polio eradication, Pakistan announced an allocation of 154 million dollars.
International donors contributed 1.9 billion dollars for the polio campaign, while the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation donated 1.2 billion dollars for polio eradication.
The Mohamed bin Zayed Foundation announced a donation of 140 million dollars for polio eradication, while Germany will provide 62 million dollars, the United States 46 million dollars, and Japan 6 million dollars.
Regarding this, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said that the polio vaccination campaign in Pakistan has been accelerated.
He said that the polio campaign is being made more effective in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, while emergency measures against polio are ongoing in Karachi.
