Pakistani actress and TV host Fiza Ali has publicly praised Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and her administration for their effective drainage system and cleanliness efforts in Lahore, especially during the recent spell of rain.
In a video statement, Fiza Ali shared her experience while traveling through the Cantonment area of Lahore to buy meat during the rain. She said that in the past, rainwater used to accumulate, causing severe traffic jams and making movement difficult. However, this time, she was pleasantly surprised.
“Despite the rain, there was no water standing anywhere in the entire Cantt area. The roads were clean, and I personally saw cleaning staff actively working. Some were sweeping the roads, others were using water pumps to clear water. Garbage trucks were on the move, and everything was well managed,” she said.
Fiza emphasized that the credit goes to Maryam Nawaz and her team for the visible improvement. She added that such efforts should be acknowledged and encouraged across all cities in Pakistan.
The statement comes at a time when public trust in civic services has been low due to repeated failures in drainage systems during monsoons in major cities.
