RAWALPINDI – Agha Salman produced a sensational century to guide Pakistan to a commanding total in the opening ODI against Sri Lanka at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. His composed and calculated knock came at a crucial time when Pakistan were struggling at 95 for 4, after losing early wickets.

Batting first, Pakistan finished at 299 for 5 in their allotted 50 overs, thanks to Agha Salman’s classy ton and Hussain Talat’s maiden half-century. The pair built a crucial partnership that steadied the innings and shifted the momentum back in Pakistan’s favor.

Earlier, Sri Lanka’s Asitha Fernando struck early, trapping Saim Ayub lbw for just six runs, before Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam added 54 runs for the second wicket. However, Zaman’s dismissal for 32 triggered a mini-collapse, leaving Pakistan in trouble until Agha Salman stepped up with his brilliant performance.

His innings not only rescued Pakistan but also provided them with the foundation for a competitive total. Fans hailed Agha Salman’s temperament and shot selection, calling it one of his most mature and impactful knocks in ODI cricket.
