Karachi: The Aligarh Institute of Technology (AIT) has kicked off the new academic year with an inspiring initiative, introducing a “Student of the Month” award exclusively for first-year students across all departments.

According to the administration, one student from each department will be selected every month based on academic performance, attendance, discipline, and classroom conduct. Department heads will oversee the evaluation process to ensure transparency and fairness.

A major highlight of the program is a special cash prize for any student who secures the title for three consecutive months, encouraging healthy competition and motivating students to maintain consistent excellence.

Addressing the ceremony for the first monthly award, Principal Shahid Jamil said the scheme is designed to recognize hard-working students and inspire them to strive for even better performance in the future.

Convenor Syed Muhammad Mohsin Kazim praised the initiative, stating that AIT aims to cultivate not just high academic scores but also discipline, ethics, and practical skills among students.

The program covers all departments, including Artificial Intelligence, Software, CIT, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Chemical, Civil, Architecture, Biomedical, Electronics, and Electrical, ensuring equal opportunities for all first-year learners.
