PESHAWAR: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out a major operation against an inter-provincial drug trafficking network in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, recovering a large quantity of hashish.
According to an ANF spokesperson, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Regional Directorate received credible intelligence indicating that a substantial consignment of narcotics was hidden among rocky formations at a dumping site in District Khyber.
Reports revealed that the narcotics belonged to the infamous D.T.O. group from Bara, allegedly comprising notorious smugglers from the Afridi tribe. The traffickers were reportedly preparing to transport the drugs to Punjab under the cover of darkness.
Acting swiftly on the information, the ANF team raided the location and recovered 144 kilograms of hashish. A case has been registered under the Anti-Narcotics Act 1997, while further investigation is underway to arrest the culprits behind the operation.
