RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has seized narcotics worth millions of rupees in major operations conducted in Peshawar and Chagai, as part of an ongoing nationwide crackdown against drug trafficking.
According to an ANF spokesperson, the force carried out targeted raids near educational institutions and in several cities across the country. During three separate operations, two suspects were arrested, and a total of 209.83 kilograms of narcotics—valued at over Rs 29.5 million—were recovered.
In one operation near a university on Peshawar’s Ring Road, 350 ecstasy tablets weighing 230 grams were seized from a suspect who later confessed to selling drugs to students of educational institutions.
In another raid near Hazro Toll Plaza in Attock, police recovered 9.6 kilograms of hashish from a motorcyclist. Meanwhile, in a major operation conducted in Nokundi, District Chagai, officers confiscated 200 kilograms of opium.
The ANF confirmed that all suspects have been booked under the Anti-Narcotics Act, 1997, and investigations are underway to trace the broader network involved in drug smuggling.
