RAWALPINDI – The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted extensive operations across the country, recovering narcotics worth over Rs120 million and arresting nine suspects, including an Afghan national and a woman.
According to an ANF spokesperson, the crackdown against drug trafficking near educational institutions and in various cities continues. During the operations, approximately 200 kilograms of narcotics, including heroin, ice, and cannabis, were seized.
At Chenab Toll Plaza, Gujrat, a woman was arrested with 4.32 kilograms of heroin and 400 grams of ice. In another operation near a university in Farooq Azam Colony, Attock, 600 grams of hashish were recovered from a motorcyclist. The suspects admitted to supplying drugs to students.
At Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, 13,000 Xanax tablets weighing 1.99 kilograms were recovered from a passenger’s luggage bound for Riyadh. Similarly, 1.62 kilograms of heroin were found in a parcel at a Karachi courier office destined for the UK. Another parcel at a Lahore courier office, bound for Australia, contained 990 grams of ice concealed in shoe fabric.
In Rawalpindi’s Chaklala Garrison, 14 grams of weed were recovered from toys in a parcel sent from the U.S. Meanwhile, 2.59 kilograms of heroin and 2.1 kilograms of ice were seized from a vehicle near Kamra Road, Attock, leading to the arrest of two suspects, including an Afghan national.
At Thakot on the Hazara Expressway, 14.4 kilograms of hashish were seized, and two suspects were arrested. In Quetta, 5 kilograms of ice were recovered near Lakpass Toll Plaza, while another 166 kilograms of heroin and hashish were seized near Western Bypass, Hazar Ganji.
All cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotics Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations are underway.
