LAHORE — A woman identified as Farzana Bibi died in Lahore’s Manga Mandi area after her husband allegedly gave her poison pills during a domestic quarrel.

Relatives of the deceased accused the husband, Zahid, of routinely assaulting her and claimed he acted in collusion with his brothers to kill her.

Police reported that the victim was taken to hospital in critical condition but could not survive. Three suspects — Zahid, Nasir, and Akhtar — have been arrested, and a case has been registered.

SP Sadar Rana Hussain Tahir said that those who take the law into their own hands will be shown no leniency.
