The Punjab government has approved funds amounting to Rs. 26.77 billion for various development projects in the health sector.
The approval was granted during the 7th meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP). The meeting was attended by Secretary P&D Rafaqat Ali, Chief Economist Masood Anwar, members of the P&D Board, and officials from relevant sectors.
Among the approved funds, Rs. 7.70 billion have been allocated for the purchase of medical equipment for Jinnah Institute of Cardiology. Additionally, Rs. 3.83 billion have been allocated for medical equipment procurement for Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology, Sargodha.
Furthermore, Rs. 6.84 billion have been approved for the renovation and improvement of hospitals under the Specialized Healthcare Department. The construction and renovation of DHQ Hospital Hafizabad have also been approved with an allocation of Rs. 8.39 billion.
