Rawalpindi: The Airport Security Force (ASF) thwarted a major attempt to smuggle narcotics at Islamabad International Airport.
According to the ASF spokesperson, a passenger bound for Dubai was caught with 1.706 kilograms of crystal ice heroin and 216 grams of narcotic pills concealed in his luggage.
Officials said the suspect had ingeniously hidden the drugs inside secret compartments of a dough-kneading machine. Upon inspection, ASF personnel discovered a significant quantity of narcotics concealed within the equipment.
The spokesperson added that the successful operation reflects the vigilance, investigative skill, and professionalism of ASF personnel.
Following preliminary investigation, the arrested passenger and the recovered drugs were handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) for further legal proceedings.
