In a tragic incident in Karachi’s Sharf Goth area, Assistant Professor Iftikhar Ahmad lost his life following a traffic accident. Expressing his sorrow over the incident, IG Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon, appealed to the public to assist victims promptly in such situations.
Memon stated that if the victim had been rushed to the hospital immediately, his life could have been saved. He emphasized that it is a moral, legal, and religious duty of every citizen to help those injured in accidents. According to the IG, loss of blood, fatal wounds, and unnecessary delays are often the leading causes of death in such cases.
He further asserted that the fear of legal complications is baseless, and refusing to help an injured person goes against the principles of humanity. “Saving one life is like saving all of humanity,” he remarked, adding that helping those in need is also a matter of faith.

IG Sindh urged citizens not to be passive bystanders in the event of an accident, but instead to provide immediate help as every life is precious. He also reassured the public that police and civic authorities will fully cooperate in such cases. Those who assist injured individuals will be treated with respect and protection, and they will be regarded as heroes within society.
He concluded by stressing that the duties and responsibilities of civil institutions cannot be fully carried out without the cooperation of the public.
