LAHORE: A disturbing incident unfolded in Lahore’s Gulshan-e-Ravi area, where a local doctor was arrested after allegedly attempting to abduct a child with the intent of sexual assault. The bid was successfully thwarted by vigilant area residents.
According to initial reports, the accused, identified as Dr. Junaid, was reportedly intoxicated at his clinic when the attempt occurred. Following the dismissal of a nearby school, the doctor allegedly dragged a young student, who was on his way home, toward the clinic. Quick intervention by the neighborhood residents led to the child’s rescue and the apprehension of the suspect.
Local residents claim that Dr. Junaid has a history of checking patients while under the influence of narcotics. They further stated that the latest incident was a clear attempt to kidnap the minor for the purpose of abuse.
The Gulshan-e-Ravi police reached the scene promptly, took the doctor into custody, and registered a First Information Report (FIR) against him. Authorities also seized liquor found within the clinic premises as evidence.
