BAKU: Officials from Azerbaijan and the European Union met on Monday to advance cooperation on religious freedoms, multiculturalism and religious education.

Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, hosted Marijana Kujundžić, Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan, in Baku, discussing how Azerbaijan is shaping its policy on religious and ethnic minorities under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.

Mammadov said that initiatives in the religious sphere show that equal conditions have been created for all religious and ethnic minorities, and that Azerbaijan places particular importance on preserving their historical and cultural heritage.
