Police solved the murder case of a young man who was shot dead in Chak No. 107/6R, Bahawalnagar, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
According to police authorities, the victim’s wife and her alleged lover were found responsible for the killing. Investigators said the woman had called her lover to the house, where the accused opened fire on the sleeping victim, shooting him in the head and face.
Police stated that after the murder, the woman helped her lover escape and staged a drama, claiming that unidentified assailants had shot her husband. The woman has been arrested and has confessed to the crime. A search operation has been launched to trace the fugitive lover.
Police added that the case was initially registered on the complaint of the victim’s father, Najeem-ul-Hassan, against unidentified suspects.
