Bollywood’s 1994 blockbuster action film *Mohra* is set to return to cinemas after 32 years. According to the film’s director, Rajiv Rai, the decision is not intended to compete with new releases but to give fans in smaller cities another opportunity to experience the popular classic on the big screen.
In an exclusive conversation with *Bollywood Hungama*, Rajiv Rai clarified that his film is not competing against *Ramayana*. He explained that several films have changed their release dates around Diwali, creating opportunities for cinemas in smaller cities, and he wants to take advantage of this opportunity.
Rajiv Rai also stated that *Ramayana* cannot occupy every cinema across the country. He added that *Mohra* might not even be screened in Mumbai, so the question of direct competition between the two films does not arise. He further clarified that the plan is to re-release the film on a limited scale rather than target major multiplexes with expensive tickets.
Released on July 1, 1994, *Mohra* featured Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Raveena Tandon, and Naseeruddin Shah in key roles. The film was directed by Rajiv Rai, and its songs also became hugely popular.
