Breast Cancer Screening: Important Findings on the Use of AI

According to a study, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in breast cancer screening reduces cases of dangerous and late stage cancer.

‎In the UK, it is estimated that regular screening saves about 1,300 lives from breast cancer every year.

‎Breast Cancer Now says that in the 1990s, one in every seven people died from this disease, while today this rate has fallen to one in 20.

‎At present, two specialists are required to review every mammogram screening, yet sometimes cancer still goes undetected.

‎However, if AI is used in this process, screening can be carried out safely and effectively by just one specialist, and its accuracy can be further improved.
