Dengue Situation in Sindh Alarming, 4 Deaths and 1,192 New Cases Reported in 24 Hours ‎

The dengue situation in Sindh has become alarming as four people lost their lives to the disease in the past 24 hours. According to the Sindh Health Department, the total number of dengue related deaths this year has risen to 25.

‎The Sindh Health Department reported that in the last 24 hours, 1,192 new cases of dengue were confirmed across the province, including 642 in Karachi and 550 in Hyderabad.

‎According to the department, a total of 10,502 dengue cases have been reported in Sindh this year. Currently, 227 patients are under treatment in government hospitals and 212 in private hospitals. In Karachi, 257 beds have been allocated for dengue patients in government hospitals and 195 in private hospitals.

‎The Sindh Health Department stated that 37 laboratories are conducting dengue testing in Karachi, including 12 government and 25 private labs. In Hyderabad, 18 laboratories are conducting dengue tests, of which 7 are government run and 11 are private.

‎During the past 24 hours, those who died from dengue in Sindh included three children and one woman. A 3 year old girl in Hyderabad, a 6 year old boy in Badin, an 11 year old boy, and a 30 year old woman in Karachi lost their lives to dengue.
